I love creating photos to remind families that in spite of the fact that the floor of their car is covered in cereal, their laundry room looks like an episode of hoarders and mom and dad are in a permanent state of exhaustion, their love and their story are beautiful.

You can't tell from the pictures but these guys dealt with a hurricane and loss of power on their vacation, leading right up to their photos -- thankfully power came back on just in time to have hot water and a hairdryer before their session!! The weather was not ideal but that didn't take away from the fun, joy and love! This family is the epitome of laid back and I enjoyed every crazy second hanging on the beach with them! GARDEN FAMILY SESSION
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, I'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule. If you're visiting the beach and your session is while you're on vacation, I ask for details regarding the length of your stay so we can be flexible if necessary. I also have a backup plan if we run into the dreaded west wind (If you know, you know)...
what do we do if it rains or if it looks like it might rain?
The sooner the better! My Spring/Summer availability opens up around mid-February. Weekend availability is limited due to weddings - especially during the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to me, the more likely you are to get your desired date!
To reserve your date, I'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let me know!
How far in advance should I book a portrait session?
If picking out outfits for photos takes you back to your high school days when you literally tried on everything in your closet and piled it on your bed but still felt like you had nothing to wear, you're in luck.
I've partnered with an online styling service, free for my clients, and am happy to provide my opinion and suggestions too!
What should we wear?
Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Heck, I take photos for a living and we even feel like a deer in the headlights when I'm in front of the camera.
You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and we coach you through images, we think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don't worry about your kids. I'm well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.
We're awkard in photos and my kids never sit still.
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes as easy as turning on a Roomba to clean your floors. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
